Flite wins Gold at the German Design Award 2025

BYRON BAY - November 14 2025: Flite has earned the highest recognition possible from the German Design Council, winning Gold in Excellent Product Design for Flite x Marc Newson MN60 Wave. They were also winners for ULTRA L2, as they continue to define new benchmarks in marine innovation.

Ride the future

Designed for advanced wave riders, award-winner ULTRA L2 blurs the line between eFoil and surf foil. The world’s lightest production eFoil features the world’s smallest, lowest drag production propulsion system.

The jury was impressed, saying: “Consistently focused on agility and lightness, ULTRA L2 impresses with its rigorously reduced use of materials. The distinctive carbon board and streamlined eFoil system combine technical sophistication with a clear, aesthetic design language. Especially in the interplay of performance and design, this project sets an impressive benchmark for sports equipment at the highest level.”

Pure design. Pure performance.

Gold-winning MN60 Wave is the pinnacle of a three board collection designed with the iconic Marc Newson. It boasts peak stiffness, performance and longevity, through the use of the most advanced Japanese high modulus pre-preg carbon fibre/fiber.

In addition to the premium materials, the jury recognised/recognized: “A distinctive blend of material reduction and aesthetic clarity makes MN60 Wave so compelling. The seamless monocoque carbon structure appears clear and elegant, while the patented drive is subtly integrated. What stands out is how the board, with its powerful lightness and hydrodynamic precision, opens up new possibilities for athletic experiences. The distinction honors a charismatic symbiosis of technology and emotion.”

Discover the range

This award further solidifies Flite’s position as industry pioneer, as they remain at the forefront of the fast-growing and exciting sport of eFoiling. More and more people around the world are discovering the feeling of freedom that comes from flying over water. With different setups to suit everyone from beginners to advanced wave riders, it is no surprise that Flite is the world’s most awarded eFoil.
