Performance eFoil systems
What’s an eFoil?
Before we talk about our eFoil systems, let’s clear something up. eFoil is another term for electric hydrofoil, which is the whole craft, from the top of the board down to the tip of the stabilizer. However (and slightly confusingly), eFoil can also refer to the configuration underneath the water. This includes the mast, fuselage, propulsion system and wing. The official name for this is actually ‘eFoil system’, which refers to this underwater part of the craft and what this article is about.
Our eFoil systems can be divided into two main types – Standard and Performance.
Standard eFoil systems apply to Series 4 and earlier, and are distinguished by a flat-interface wing connection. Our Performance eFoil systems apply mainly to MN Series 4 and all Series 5 eFoil systems. They are identifiable through a low drag, conical wing interface that promotes greater efficiency, stability and ride time and have a C in their name to denote this. All performance eFoil systems are compatible with Flite Jet 2, with the exception of Prop C, whereas all Standard eFoil systems are not compatible with this Series 5 jet.
Flite Jet 2
The revolutionary Flite Jet 2 propulsion system is our most powerful and efficient eFoil jet, delivering our best ever ride. The ultimate upgrade, it has been designed to work across our entire line-up of boards, from Flitescooter to ULTRA L2 for powered eFoil riding perfection.
Flite Jet 2 is also as safe as it gets for eFoil propulsion. With a fully enclosed impeller, it’s the propulsion system of choice for families and Fliteschools around the world. With epic responsiveness, smoothness and efficiency, jet riding is now suited to both beginners and pros.
Series 5 eFoil Systems
Flitescooter C aluminum eFoil 65cm / 25.6” mast with 62mm fuselage diameter.
This eFoil is bespoke to Flitescooter and features the revolutionary Flite Jet 2. The beginner friendly, shorter aluminum mast promotes more forgiving touchdowns, for a super smooth and stable ride.

Jet C aluminum eFoil: 80cm / 31.5” mast with 62mm fuselage diameter.
- This eFoil system features our revolutionary Flite Jet 2 technology. Quieter, smoother, more powerful, safe and ultra efficient, it is the most accessible choice for performance riding in flat water or surf.
- Marc Newson Carbon Jet C eFoil: 82cm / 32" mast with 62mm fuselage diameter.
- Housing the revolutionary Flite Jet 2, the seamless carbon monocoque mast and fuselage is a masterclass in design and engineering, providing ultimate stiffness and an ultra-narrow hydrodynamic path for an unmatched eFoiling experience. It is as premium as it gets.
- Marc Newson Carbon Wave C eFoil: 82cm / 32" mast with 46mm fuselage diameter.
- Housing the world’s smallest, lowest drag eFoil propulsion system, this seamless carbon monocoque mast and fuselage offers the ultimate powered to unpowered wave riding experience. The Folding Prop is specifically designed for advanced riders who prioritize powered-off wave or wake riding. As the name suggests, the intelligent design automatically streamlines, folding like a fishtail when the throttle is released. This reduces drag and ensures maximum efficiency, making it unmatched for powering onto the wave then gliding down it as nature intended. Not compatible with Flite Jet 2.

Why does mast length matter?
The longer the mast the higher the eFoil will fly above the water. Longer masts facilitate harder and tighter carved turns as they allow for a lower angle before the board touches the water. As well as providing a thrilling sense of freedom, longer masts are preferable in rougher conditions as there is more height to fly above the chop. As such, the longer performance eFoil systems allow you to push your ride to the limit, whatever the conditions.
What makes our performance eFoil system a cut above?
Our relentless pursuit of perfection has helped us excel in three main areas of design.
Stability
Every Flite eFoil positions the wings and motor on a single axis so thrust and lift are aligned. This creates greater stability and hydrodynamic efficiency, which is enhanced the harder and faster you fly.
Conical Wings
All of our Series 5 eFoil systems pair with our lowest drag performance Conical Wing range via a universal titanium interface. Secured by just two low profile universal bolts, any wing from this range can be switched out in seconds to match the conditions or your preferred riding style. As mentioned above, all eFoils with a conical wing interface are denoted with a C in their name.

Materials
All Flite eFoil systems are made in as few pieces as possible, using either aero grade aluminum, precision machined in a 14hr process, or premium, Japanese, high modular pre-preg (HMPP) carbon fiber. Our aluminum systems benefit from a patented unibody fuselage construction that seamlessly connects fuselage, propulsion system and tail, for optimal performance and hydrodynamic efficiency.
Our MN eFoil systems go one step further in a masterclass of design and engineering, creating an exquisite carbon fiber monocoque structure from the tip of the tail to the top of the mast, that offers an unmatched strength to weight ratio, and hydrodynamic efficiency for the ultimate in performance. Our MN range is the result of a 3 year collaboration between Flite and world-renowned designer Marc Newson, which has pushed the boundaries of design, innovation and performance. If you want the absolute best, look no further.

Why aluminum?
As well as being strong, light and corrosion resistant after its anodization process, aluminum is an efficient heat conductor. This turns the eFoil mast into an ingenious heat sink, removing the need for any internal water cooling systems. It also reduces weight and risk of failure. Aluminum is also stiffer than the forged carbon that some manufacturers use in their eFoils, providing a more stable ride at higher loads, for a more accessible price.
Why HMPP carbon?
HMPP carbon is the highest quality carbon fiber available, pioneered in the aerospace and elite motorsport industries because of its incredible strength to weight ratio. On an MN eFoil these properties allow for a thinner and more streamlined mast, resulting in improved handling, ride time and hydrodynamic efficiency. HMPP carbon fiber is lighter than aluminum with a more premium price point. Although carbon is not an efficient heat conductor, all our HMPP carbon fiber masts have an aluminum core to quickly and cleverly wick heat away from the electronics, again removing the need for any internal cooling systems.
Whats in a diameter?
MN 46mm fuselage
This is the world’s lightest and slimmest production performance eFoil system. Fitting neatly into the 46mm fuselage is the smallest, lowest drag propulsion system on the market, powering the MN Wave’s Folding Prop. You might assume when it comes to propulsion, smaller is less desirable, but underwater propulsion systems benefit from being as small as possible as this greatly improves hydrodynamic efficiency and consequently, stability and ride time. Designed for advanced wave and wake riding.
62mm fuselage
The 62mm fuselage houses a slightly larger motor that offers riders more thrust, at the expense of more power and therefore reduced ride time. Suitable for all conditions, riding preferences and abilities, our 62mm fuselage comes configured with Flite Prop or Flite Jet 2.
We hope this has given you a better understanding of why Flite eFoil systems are considered the world’s best. And whet your appetite to find freedom & take Flite.
